The Tangsha Naga community’s staple meal includes boiled rice, boiled or roasted vegetables, fish and meat. The traditional drink is Phalap which is a smoked tea and Ju which is the rice beer. They live in stilt houses, surrounded by tea plantation in between coal hills. Champhot is the rice cooked in bamboo tubes. Yngalhot is fish marinated with ginger, garlic and chilly, baked in bamboo tube.
Too is colocasia root roasted over fire. The meal is served on Khalaol (a leaf used for cooking and serving purposes)
