Manas National Park located in the Himalayan foothill, about 120KM from Guwahati, Assam is an UNESCO Natural World Heritage site, a Tiger reserve and a biosphere reserve. The park is known for its rare and endangered wildlife such as the Assam roofed turtle, hispid hare, golden langur, Indian rhinoceros and pygmy hog. Also Manas national park is famous for its population of the wild water buffalo.
