Description
if you have a day or two in Assam, then head straight to the historic Kaziranga National park. An UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kaziranga National Park is home to the unique One Horned Indian Rhinoceros apart from several other wild animals. A Jeep Safari or elephant safari through the lush green forest and an overnight stay in one of the many resorts there will bring you a little closer to nature and wildlife. One interesting thing about this place is that it extends through two different districts namely Nagaon and Golaghat.
How to Reach: If you are heading directly from Guwahati, reaching Kaziranga will take you just 3-4 hours by road. From Jorhat and Dibrugarh, it is roughly 110 kilometers and 250 kilometers respectively. Both public and private transportation facilities can be used to reach Kaziranga.
Best time to visit: November - April
