Situated in the northeastern part of India in the tiny state of Sikkim, Yumthang Valley is the home to a variety of tribes like the Lepchas, Bhutias, Nepalis, etc. Yumthang Valley is situated in the Himalayan belt of North Sikkim and is a mesmerizing land of hot springs, yaks and grazing pastures with around 24 species of Rhododendrons, the state flower of Sikkim that is known for its varied species.

A tributary of Teesta flows through this valley making the land bewitching. The nearest town to Yumthang Valley is Lachung and a forest house is the permanent resident in the valley. The valley is at an elevation of 3,564 metres (11,693 ft) above msl (mean sea level) at a distance of 150 kilometres (93 mi) from the capital city of Sikkim, Gangtok. The flowering season in this wondrous land starts from late February to mid June when countless flowers bloom and carpet the valley of Yumthang. For the lovers of skiing, Yumthang provides numerous skiing opportunities. Visit this beautiful place and feed your nature-blessed soul.
