10 DAYS EXPLORING TRIBES OF NORTH EAST INDIA

North-East India, one of the most unexplored and untouched regions of India. The region is not only diverse in terms of natural beauty but also rich in culture, tradition, and language. There are more than 220 ethnic groups live here and about 220 languages are spoken all over the region. This tour will provide you glimpses of some of the most interesting tribes in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland. The itinerary and details of the tours is as follows.

TRIP ITINERARY:

DAY 1: GUWAHATI-KAZIRANGA (ASSAM)

We shall start our journey from Guwahati at 10AM and drive to Kaziranga National Park. An UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kaziranga National Park is home to the unique One-Horned Indian Rhinoceros apart from several other wild animals. After arrival at Kaziranga, check-in to hotel/resort. Afternoon go for Jeep Safari. Evening visit – The Orchid Bio-Diversity Park, there you can enjoy the cultural show. Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

DAY 2: SAFARI IN KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK( ASSAM)

Early morning go for Elephant safari into the western range of Kaziranga National park. Elephat Safari timings are from 5-7AM. After that come back to hotel, have the breakfast. Take some rest or explore the tea gardens nearby. In the afternoon go for Jeep safari into the jungles of Kaziranga National park. Jeep Safari timings are from 2-4PM. Evening enjoy traditional dance and music at Orchid park near kaziranga national park.

DAY 3: KAZIRANGA TO ZIRO, ARUNACHAL PRADESH(APRX 300km/7-8hrs)

After breakfast we shall move towards your next destination Ziro. Arrive to Ziro, the area of Apatani people. Ziro is almost a level valley enclosed on all sides by pine-clad low stooping hills. This area, also called Apatani Plateau, is famous for Paddy-cum-Fish culture. Discovering the local culture of the Apatani tribe whose old ladies still practicing the unique tradition of nose plugs piercing and facial tattooing. Apatani practice Doniy Polo animism and believe in Sun and Moon. Overnight in homestay in Siiro village.

DAY 4: EXPLORE THE APATANIS OF ZIRO VALLEY, ARUNACHAL PRADESH

Early morning we shall go for The whole day will be spent exploring Apatani villages and witnessing old ladies with the unique nose plugs and facial tattoos. We also make an excursion to the interior of Ziro valley visiting the Hong village, the largest village of the Apatani Community, and some other Apatani villages such as Bulla, Hari, and Hija. We shall also see Apatani women's traditional dancing in Michi village. Overnight in homestay in Siiro village.

DAY 5: ZIRO VALLEY TO MAJULI, ASSAM (157 km / 5 - 6 Hrs Drive)

After Breakfast drive to Majuli. Majuli is famously known as the world's largest (or, arguably, second largest) river island. It is located in between two streams of mighty Brahmaputra River. On arrival check-in at hotel. Overnight at Majuli.

DAY 6:  EXPLORE MAJULI:

Full day Majuli sightseeing, visiting the temples with age old history and learn about the monks staying in the temple, folk dance by the monks (Gayanbayan), visit mask making temple, pottery village and Mishing tribal villages. Majuli is the cultural capital of Assam. Shrimant Sankardeva established this practice of Vaishnavism in 16th century. Vaishnavism is a sect of Hinduism where they worship Lord Vishnu, The Protector, and his re-incarnation. The major population of this island is in habitat by Mishing tribe, who are believed to be migrated from present Arunachal Pradesh. History says that they were bond laborers of Adi Tribe for finding gold in river bed. To escape this they follow the river and migrated down to Assam. Now most of this tribe is settled down in Assam closed to water body. Overnight at Majuli.

DAY 7: MAJULI TO MON VILLAGE IN NAGALAND (APRX.235 km / 7- 8 Hrs Drive) 

Today early morning drive to Mon in Nagaland. En route visit historical monuments of Ahom dynasty, such as Shiva Dol and Kareng Ghar. Mon is the home of the Konyak Nagas who were the last of the headhunters. They are famous for their accomplished craftsmanship in making woodcarvings, headgears, necklaces etc. Overnight at Guest House/ Resort.

DAY 8: EXPLORE HONGPHOI VILLAGE, NAGALAND

After leisure breakfast drive to nearby village called Hongphoi to witness Konyak tribes.  The main attraction of this village is the colorful traditional attires, beating of log drums in their community hall called "Morung". One can meet the tattooed Konyak elders and interact with them and also the modest king's house. Overnight stay at Mon.

DAY 9: DAY EXCURSION TO LONGWA, NAGALAND (APPRX 42 km / 2.5 Hrs DRIVE)

Drive to Longwa village. Longwa is situated in the eastern most tip of Nagaland and the village itself is right on the border in between India and Myanmar. The villages are ruled by the hereditary chief the 'Angh' (king). The house of the Angh of Longwa is situated half in India and half in Burma. Explore the village to meet and interact with the Angh, who has 16 villages in Myanmar and 4 villages in Indian territory under his sovereignty. Also, meet few of the last surviving head hunters in the village. Back to Mon. Overnight stay at Mon.

DAY 10. MON – DIBRUGARH (APPRX 130 km / 5 – 6 Hrs Drive)

Today is the last day of the North East Tribal tour. After breakfast we shall drive to Dibrugarh to catch the flight for onward journey.

We reccommend a tour manager through out the tour apart from local guides. It is optional and the cost of tour manager is Rs. 5000/- per day including His/Her accommodation and food.

1. Lunch is not included. For lunch, we can recommend good restaurants on the way of travel.

2. Check your luggage/belongings/valuables/ items in any form, before leave the vehicle/ check out hotel. We/Our Company/organization are not responsible / liable in any manners in case of lost/misplace/damage/ forget of anything in the vehicle/hotel.

3. The rates quoted in the packages are on per person basis when 4 Pax travel together.

4. Price will be less or more when number of person increase or decrease.

5. Price is valid for Indian nationals only.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

1. 50% payment to be deposited to confirm the booking.
2. Please do carry mask, mini Santizier, also please do maintain social distancing. Also please do check your temperature before trip.
3. Carry warm clothes.
4. All Cost quoted is in INR (Indian Rupee).
5. Vehicle Provided as per mention tour plan (Point to Point Basis only), any additional
6. sightseeing not mentioned in the Itinerary will be charged extra.
7. No Refund or Compensation for any unused services/transportation in any circumstance.
8. Visits to Museums/Parks/Monasteries/Forts  in the program is subject to their remaining open on the day of the visit as per the rules of the competent authority.
9. We will not bear any cost for flight canceled or delayed due to Bad weather or any other reason given by the airline. The cost of accommodation and transport in such cases will have to be borne by passenger.
10. No changes in the date of travel once booked.
11. Room allotment will be as per the availability at the time of check-in, floor or view preferences are not guaranteed.
12. All expenses which are not included in the cost of package shall be paid directly by tourist at the time of checkout.
13. All tourists are advised to take comprehensive Insurance on their own.
14. The timings given in itinerary and program may be changed without notice keeping in mind local development.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

1. 25% cancellation charges if cancelled before 30 days before the tour.
2. 50% cancellation charges if cancelled within a 10-29 days before the tour.
3. No refund for tour starting within 10 days, after the starting or middle of the tour.
4. The Process of Refund will take around 7 days to complete.
